Coming to Yourself | Kingdom Corner Pop-In

We usually call Luke 15 the story of the Prodigal Son, but Jesus tells us about two sons. The younger son left home, squandered his inheritance, and eventually found himself hungry and feeding pigs. Then Scripture says, “He came to himself.” He faced the truth about where his choices had led him, got up, and returned to his father.

His father saw him while he was still far away, ran to him, and welcomed him home.

But the older son had a journey of his own to make. He had stayed and worked faithfully, yet he resented the celebration for his brother. He lived close to his father, but distance had grown in his heart. Tenderly, the father went out to meet him too.

The story leaves us with a question: Where do I need to come to myself? Perhaps I’ve wandered away. Or perhaps I’ve done the right things while quietly growing resentful. Either way, I can be honest before the Father. He wants more than my presence in His house; He invites me to know and share His heart.
