“Five Elements of Biblical Meditation”

Reverberation, Repetition, Stillness (waiting),Pondering, Imagination

REVERBERATION:

is created when a sound or signal is reflected causing numerous reflections to build up and then decay as the sound is absorbed by the surfaces of objects in the space – which could include furniture, people, and air.(Wicki)…also echo

Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the one     who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take     or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,     and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,     which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—     whatever they do prospers.

HAGAH—Ha-ga ….to roar, groan, growl (a low over & over sound like a lion growling over its prey, or the echoing sound of a turtle dove)…also to speak, utter, meditate, mutter, imagine, mourn, ,muse, devise ….to murmur in pleasure , anger, or pain (sore speak)…can be + or -

Joshua 1:8   Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

[Job 27:4 KJV] 4 My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter[H1897] deceit.

[Psa 2:1 KJV] 1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine[H1897] a vain thing?

[Psa 35:28 KJV] 28 And my tongue shall speak[H1897] of thy righteousness [and] of thy praise all the day long.

[Psa 38:12 KJV] 12 They also that seek after my life lay snares [for me]: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine[H1897] deceits all the day long.

[Psa 63:6 KJV] 6 When I remember thee upon my bed, [and] meditate[H1897] on thee in the [night] watches.

[Psa 71:24 KJV] 24 My tongue also shall talk[H1897] of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

[Psa 77:12 KJV] 12 I will meditate[H1897] also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

[Psa 143:5 KJV] 5 I remember the days of old; I meditate[H1897] on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.

[Pro 8:7 KJV] 7 For my mouth shall speak[H1897] truth; and wickedness [is] an abomination to my lips.

[Pro 15:28 KJV] 28 The heart of the righteous studieth[H1897] to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

[Isa 8:19 KJV] 19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter:[H1897] should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

[Isa 16:7 KJV] 7 Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourn;[H1897] surely [they are] stricken.

[Isa 31:4 KJV] 4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring[H1897] on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, [he] will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

[Isa 33:18 KJV] 18 Thine heart shall meditate[H1897] terror. Where [is] the scribe? where [is] the receiver? where [is] he that counted the towers?

[Isa 38:14 KJV] 14 Like a crane [or] a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn[H1897] as a dove: mine eyes fail [with looking] upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

[Isa 59:3, 11, 13 KJV] 3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered[H1897] perverseness. ... 11 We roar all like bears, and mourn[H1897] sore[H1897] like doves: we look for judgment, but [there is] none; for salvation, [but] it is far off from us. ... 13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering[H1897] from the heart words of falsehood.
